StarSwirl Star Projector Night Light | Rotating Stars with Remote & Timer

Darker evenings are here: give the bedroom a starry ceiling.

Want a night light with a little more magic?

A plain night light does one thing: it glows. It does not give you, or your child, anything to look at once the main light goes off. And a projector that runs on disposable batteries is one more thing to keep topping up.

StarSwirl is a soft night light and a star projector in one. With the dome on, it glows gently. Take the dome off and it projects gently rotating stars, moons and sea creatures across the ceiling and walls. It charges by USB, so there are no disposable batteries to buy.

Why this works differently

Most night lights only switch the dark off. StarSwirl gives the room something to look at: 21 interchangeable patterns, from stars and moons to sea creatures, animals and fireworks, rotating gently on the ceiling. A remote control, a timer and a built-in music function are included, so one lamp covers a whole evening routine.

The biggest difference: it is two lights in one. Dome on is a soft night light. Dome off is a star projector.

StarSwirl compared with a plain night light or a basic star projector

How it works

The dome is held on magnetically. With the dome on, StarSwirl is a soft night light. Lift the dome off and the lamp turns into a star projector, with a pattern film that rotates gently to move the stars, moons and sea creatures across the ceiling. To change the pattern, swap the pattern film for another of the 21 patterns. The included remote control switches the projection, the music and the timer on or off, and you can set one of 3 light colours and 3 brightness levels to suit the room.

Why you'll love it

• Two lights in one: a soft night light with the dome on, a star projector with it off.
• 21 patterns: stars, moons, sea creatures, animals, planets, fireworks and more.
• Rotating projection: the picture moves gently across the ceiling and walls.
• 3 light colours and 3 brightness levels: choose the glow that suits the room.
• Remote control included: switch the projection, music and timer without getting up.
• Built-in timer: set it and the light switches itself off.
• Built-in music function: controlled from the remote.
• USB rechargeable: no disposable batteries needed, and a gold crown on top for a bit of character.

How to use it

Charge StarSwirl with the USB cable in the box. Stand it on a stable surface such as a bedside table or shelf. Leave the dome on for a soft night light, or lift the dome off for the star projection. Use the remote control to switch the projection, the music and the timer on or off, and set the light colour and brightness you like. To change the pattern, swap the pattern film and put the dome back.

When you'll use it

In a child's bedroom. Turn the main light down and let the stars drift across the ceiling.

For story time and quiet play. A gentle glow and a moving sky give the room a cosy feel.

In a playroom or den. Take the dome off, dim the room and watch the patterns move across the walls.

As a gift. It makes a thoughtful present for birthdays and Christmas.

Who it's for, and who it's not

Great for you if you want a soft night light with a starry ceiling for a child's bedroom or playroom, or a gift idea for a birthday or Christmas, anywhere in the UK.

Less suitable if you want a bright lamp to read or work by, or a light that fills a whole room. StarSwirl is made for soft, low-level lighting.
